Some time ago, the screen of the laptop was damaged and part of the screen is now yellow.
In the repair they said that the new matrix costs 5000 rubles.
I was thinking that since I have to pay for a new screen, is it possible to buy a display with a higher resolution, but the same physical size and install it in place of the broken one?

This is real. It is possible to replace. Another thing is that you need to find an “implant”, and this is much more difficult than transplanting it. With a bit of luck, it might work.
For the price, the work will be a bit more expensive. I carried out a similar operation for my old Samsung q10.

The difference is in the type of matrix, as far as I can see.
However, it is most likely impossible to install a matrix with a higher resolution due to the physical difference between the interfaces of the loops / video controller and the matrix.

It may not fit in a larger resolution. I have a Dell netbook lying around from 1024 to 600, it seems. They have a newer model from 1366, but according to forum reviews, the matrix has a different connector pinout.
