Can a faulty ssd cause a computer to crash?
I decided to replace a buggy HDD with an SSD on a stationary computer. I bought ssd SB120GB-SPLH-25SAT3. Inserted, managed to install windows and all my programs. All this time I just rebooted it, did not turn it off. After I turned it off and then turned it on again, no image appeared on the screen, it itself hummed with fans. Then he stopped buzzing, only spins them for a second, then turns off again. I decided to try to put this ssd in a nettop. I installed it, the nettop immediately behaved in the same way as the computer, it buzzes, but there is no image. And after returning the old disk, it also does not produce anything. I don't understand where the faulty component is. How to find out?
Computer motherboard: Gigabyte z97-d3.
I have already tried obvious actions like checking the monitor.

If +5 V power or ground is applied to the SATA signal wires of the motherboard, a chip on the motherboard may come out.
Something similar happened to your SSD - it broke through the wires to power or to the ground - not just the PC and the laptop died.
It's sad, but it looks like the motherboard is for replacement, nettop for organs, SSD for replacement under warranty.
