Can a BSOD blue screen pop up due to motherboard overheating?

I've been getting a blue screen lately. Could it be due to motherboard temperature? If not, why not?

It may well be. It can also be due to overheating of the RAM, which, when overheated, starts to figure out the wrong values, as a result, one of the system processes crashes into a BSOD (and you can’t programmatically determine the temperature of the memory due to the lack of sensors on it, except perhaps with some some external instrument to measure).

Maybe and how. Although the BSOD code would certainly not be superfluous.
