Buying a server and co-location in another city

Is it possible, without having a physical presence in the city (St. Petersburg), to buy a server and put it on co-location in one of the city's data centers?
Has anyone done this?
Will there be any difficulties with warranty service "in the place of operation"?

It turned out it was possible. And it's pretty easy to do.
It is convenient if the server provider is a hosting partner.
For example, Selectel has partners-sellers whose offices are located near the DC.
And there are no problems with delivery after purchase and on-site service.

There are hosters who will do this for you for a dime. The server itself will be sold to you.
If you do not use such hosting services, then you will need a person on the other side who will deal with everything.
With a guarantee from HP, for example, there are no problems. They will come and replace the iron on the spot. It will only be necessary for them to write out a pass to the DC from the hoster. There may be problems with small vendors - they will have to carry the server.

"Is it possible, without having a physical presence in the city (St. Petersburg), to buy a server and put it on co-location in one of the city's data centers?" Yes, but not all DCs. Agree with the supplier and the representative of the DC about the time of acceptance / delivery.
"Will there be any difficulties with the warranty service "at the place of operation"?" for TIER-1 manufacturers, the complexity is only the coordination of a visit to the DC of the courier \ replacement of the warranty by a service engineer.
The subtleties are all discussed before concluding a contract for a peg.
