Buy Macbook pro 2012, update and work - really?
Hello!
In general, I need to make 2 applications for mobile devices at work.
In order to adequately code for ios, you need to take a mac, but the price of $ 1300 for 128GB and 8 RAM confuses me.
After reading Google, I saw that some people buy macbook pro 13 mid2012 with i5, put ssd there, 2 8gb sticks and rejoice.
How realistic is this? Actually, it will be used for programming for mobile devices, which means emulation.
Will such a poppy cope with the task?
PS If there are any other options for a budget poppy (maybe a mini?) (or even can put Mac OS on a regular PC?), Which will cope with the task - I will only be happy!

We recently bought this device for a friend, a novice developer for $ 450 and this is what happened:
SSD = $ 120
RAM 8gb = $ 100
Battery with Ali = $ 30 (since over the years the old one has gained 700 cycles and there was a message about the need to replace it) .
Keyboard = $30 (in a cafe on a test in bright light, they didn’t see that the backlight didn’t shine evenly, at home they already saw that the keyboard was flooded)
Total: 450 + 120 + 100 + 30 + 30 = $ 730!
For $800-850 you could take 15ku 13-14th year with all this already on board, in addition there will be discrete video and 4-core i7 and retina! So think for yourself...
Mac Mini 2012 only. Now it costs more than 6 years ago and a normal copy is hard to find.
Personally, I use a hackintosh, on 2013 hardware with SSD + Intel Core i5-4670 + GTX 660 Ti + 16 GB of RAM. Everything works perfectly in conjunction with two monitors + 42 "TV. The hardware cost me about 35-40k, I can’t say for sure, because I bought it gradually.
At the expense of the MacBook, I would look at the retina of 2013 with Haswell. 2012 with AMD graphics But again, you need to know your budget, how much you are willing to spend.
PS There is a rumor that Apple may introduce a new Mac Mini this fall, since it's time already. The rumor is thin, but still. Therefore, I would not rush to choice.
I have proshka 13 of 2012, everything is as described, I increased the ssd and memory, it’s more than realistic to work, I don’t have anything to do with mobile development, however, in principle, several docker containers spin besides the ide and the browser during operation, I don’t know how much this can be compared with the ios emulator, the only crap is the low-resolution display, if you use an external monitor, then it's normal. And the next generation seems to have already soldered the memory
