Has Habr become a support branch of VKontakte? :)
Write to support, their developers like to roll out updates to production somehow unevenly, perhaps you got their buggy part.

Third-party scripts may be to blame: various music savers or videos from VKontakte with synchronous code. Do you have something similar?

also Arch, opera12 terribly slows down the system and periodically produces artifacts with rendering, js works disgustingly in most cases, I had to switch to chromium, everything is ok under Windows.
