Browsersync alternative for Gulp?

I used browser-sync with gulp for a long time, but today I was wondering if there is a better alternative? I used it for the server and for the autoreload, but maybe there is something better?
And a small question that has been tormenting me for a long time - does browser-sync connect files or do they still need to be registered manually?

I actively use this bundle in frontend development - and I can’t even imagine how it could be otherwise. Great tools.
