Brakes and game crashes?
Hello.
There was a problem with games, mainly The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Witcher I. The essence of the crashes is as follows - I start the games, the game goes quietly for 10-15 minutes, after which there is a crash. With what is connected - it is not clear.
System configuration:
Intel Core i5-2410M
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M (2 Gb) (driver version 285.62)
RAM - 2.91 Gb
Windows 7 Home Premium x86-32.
I noticed one connection - departures are observed in the transition from location to location. Apparently, for some time the locations are cached, and then some kind of glitch, the cache overflows, and the game crashes. I started to sin on the swap file, increased it, but this did not give a result. Played with DEP, but also no exhaust. I do disk cleaning with CCleaner and defragmentation with Defraggler every couple of weeks. I checked the RAM with Linux memtest, but also no reactions. I twisted the settings without anti-aliasing and shaders, but no reaction. I did a disk check, but the utility did not find anything. I checked the integrity of the system files, but no errors were found either. Honestly, I don't know what to do. That is, formally everything is perfect, but departures from something occur.
Windows default settings. Firewall, automatic updates, UAC and Windows Defender are enabled (no antivirus, but I don't need it, since I only work with reliable software sources).
I suspect that the matter may be in the video card, but there is no overheating. On the last laptop, the card almost warmed up to 100 degrees, but there were no crashes. Here she does not warm up to 70, although she, apparently, is involved in glitches. Just some time before the flight, some models in the game began to lose textures. Instead of a normal texture - just a white canvas on top of the model. This does not apply to all models, but only to a part (in Morrowind, most often carpet textures disappeared, in The Witcher - inventory textures. In Morrowind, I recompressed some textures from 24 MB to 10-12 by reducing the resolution and removing the alpha channel, but this did not give any profit .
As for the brakes, they are in all games - even in WarCraft III (strategy undemanding to resources). The fact is that during the gameplay, brakes periodically appear. They are irregular and appear out of nowhere. There is smooth gameplay with about 45 frames per second, but then, suddenly, the picture freezes for 1-2 seconds (at this moment the hard drive wakes up and starts either reading something or writing something). In this case, all game actions are calculated, but the screen is not reflected. If, for example, I ran as a hero, then after this freezing of the picture, he turns out to be a few steps away from where he was.
I will attach a log with errors in the log about the departures:

Does the processor get hot?
ps I had a very similar problem with crashes and incomprehensible brakes (only more often), I replaced the ENTIRE computer for spare parts until I got to the power supply ... maybe your case?
Have you tried installing other versions of the video card driver?
Didn't find what you were looking for?
