Books do not open in pocketbook 616 / the device freezes when opening, why?

When you try to open any book on the device, nothing happens. More precisely, it opens and seems to freeze, or white pages are simply visible instead of text.
It happened quite recently, a year and a half after the purchase, this had not been observed before.

Install the latest firmware.

Answer 2

Reset the book (all data will be lost), install a fresh firmware, reset again and be prepared for the fact that the book will die during the firmware and will have to be carried to the service. Pocketbook has problems with flash memory - only its replacement helps.
