If you have a laptop, then see if there is a sticker on the bottom of the laptop with the inscription microsoft, if there is, then activate it with the key that is written on the sticker, if the sticker is windows 8, then it needs to be set somehow differently, but again there will be a licensed version, i.e. to. the key for windows 8 in laptops is registered in the UEFI BIOS as far as I know.
