Blogging or programming?

I understand that "you can't compare", "if you don't want to be a programmer, don't try" and stuff like that. Please answer really knowledgeable people =)
Bottom line: I'm in a very strong frustration, a little depressed and a lot of confusion and confusion after studying the prospects and trends. And I don’t understand, either creating sites and filling them with content in order to make money on advertising is a fading path, or you can still create a source of passive income on this.
Question: should I keep blogosites, or do programming and investments?

Denis Karakchiev I may be wrong, so I will only express my opinion, which may be erroneous.
So, blogging and programming are two different things, like an airplane and a blanket, but they are interconnected.
The connection is that the programmer "thinks" when programming, he does not just take the code from heaven / ceiling or somewhere else, he "thinks and experiences" it. When you write thoughts about a particular technology, you begin to understand better and deeper what you are describing! That's why they say "The teacher learns more because the student will ask questions that the teacher would never have thought of."
You need to keep a blog, follow. reasons:
1. Help others
2. Get criticism
3. PR. Someone, having solved his problem, can recommend you to his management as a new employee "Let's try to invite him to our company?"
4. This is your own guide. Written by the person who understands you best! And in the language and speech patterns that you understand better. In this case, you should take into account "You are now" ! = "You are yesterday".
Programming is a process of thinking, very often you have to make various decisions. Examples: "What if I pass a std::string object as... ?" or "How important is it to put ... ?" and others. All this can be based on your own experience as stated in the blog! Hence item 5.
5. A blog is your written experience.

I understand that "cannot be compared"

So don't compare.
I'm also thinking ... Tell me what is better, open a sausage store or build a factory for its production?
Answer: do what you like. And by the way, it's better to do what you like, but do not program. Better to continue to be a consumer of intellectual property.

Passive earnings - it is impossible unambiguously.
In order to earn more than a cup of rice per month on advertising on the site (if at all you can get a plus from the cost of maintaining sites), you need to constantly work on these sites. And advertising, first of all, from the site needs audience coverage, which is difficult to get on a blog site.

If the choice is between "filling the Internet with shit articles" and "filling the Internet with shit code", my advice to you is to start investing instead. This is a case where the result is visible on the face. Either you really do something, or you blow all the polymers and calm down.

Get into programming. Only after trying it, you will be able to understand whether you like it or not. And if it turns out that you like it, then a whole brave new world will open before you.

Take care of what you like. Don't think about money. Become the best in your class, and then you will have a lot of money, honor and respect.
