In the trading catalog, the seo tab, for any section, we change meta tags, the title changes there are no problems, description and keywords do not change in any way, cleared the cache in Bitrix and the browser, it does not help, and what was once displayed in keywords is what was once a long time ago, and in the description it is not known at all where the text comes from. Tell me, please, in which direction to dig?

Most likely somewhere in the template code they change programmatically. You need to contact either the developer or another bitrix programmer.
