Bitrix and Wordpress on the same hosting?

There is hosting (namely hosting and not VDS), a couple of projects on Wordpress and Zend 1.3 are hosted there. There is an idea to put a new site on Bitrix on it. But there, for Bitrix, as far as I remember, other system settings are needed, will it start if you change these settings and will other sites break after that?

No, they won't break. And Bitrix-specific PHP settings can be specified in .htaccess (or php.ini) depending on the mode in which php is running at the host.
