BitCion in Linux Mint - what's the best way?

I want to make my own BitCion wallet. On the bitcoin.org site, I found ready-made solutions for win, ubuntu, mac and some other systems. The repository contains a bitcoind 1mb in size, which I could not run (when called through the console, nothing happens).

Also, as far as I understand, you can not put a wallet, but just make an account on mtgox.com/ ? What are the downsides?

Advise on the best way to start a bitcoin wallet.

If your mint is based on ubuntu, then install the deb package for ubuntu. There gui on Qt. If on debian, the debian repositories (sid) have the same package.

Mt.Gox is an exchange, not a wallet.

I made a small repository especially for myself.
Electrum: proapi.ru/deb-electrum/
Armory: proapi.ru/deb-armory/
