Besides knowledge, are udemy, coursera, codeacademy certificates any good?

Do they give you an edge in the interview?

I think you might be more appreciated if you mention that you improve your knowledge with these platforms. This is appreciated by some companies.

Certainly. At a minimum, this is a marker that you meet the requirements of the courses, that you are able to learn. By the way, the “notorious” red diploma is also just a marker that you are able to set a goal for the foreseeable future and achieve it.

They have only if you can confirm them with your knowledge and skills. My opinion is that this is a little "cooler" than the diploma of your usual institute.

If you include certificates from these courses in your profile, for example, on LinkedIn, then this increases the interest in you among recruiters.
And it doesn't play much of a role in interviews.

In general, they will look at real skills and passed test items. But they will help in the selection of several candidates ... Plus, of course, they will definitely not be superfluous!

Under the word "sense" it is necessary to understand the end result - the level of wages. Even if the certificates of which recruiter attracts, then the salary does not depend much on the recruiter. Zp in normal offices depends on the results issued by you. If an office pays simply for having a diploma or certificate, then such an office is guaranteed to close soon and you will have to look for another one.
