Benefits of manual / auto disk partitioning?

Reading the guide

The disk partitioning we need with the creation of all the necessary partitions can be performed directly during the OS installation process, even in the Debian Buster graphical installer. However, my practical experiments with using this partitioning option have shown that it is not without its drawbacks and does not provide the necessary flexibility that we have in the case of pre-partitioning the disk in boot mode from Debian Live CD.

If you understand what you are doing - mark up manually, because you will do it better than a computer. If you do not understand - let it itself, so as not to break anything.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of each approach?
None.
A characteristic feature of the first approach is the limited ability to aim at one's legs and simplicity. The generalized recommendations of the second approach are akin either to Krylov's points, or to low-level formatting of sata and sas disks)
