Because of what is the very strange behavior of the router?

Good afternoon!
I have :
Computer - MacBook Pro 15' late 2011 (MD318LL/A), OS X Mavericks 10.9.1
Router - TP-Link TL-WR741ND
Problem:
For the last 3-4 days, when you turn on Wi-Fi on your MacBook, one of the following scenarios occurs:
1. Wi-Fi does not automatically connect (as it used to) and either immediately or when you try to manually select a network, it launches the network diagnostic program
2. Wi-Fi automatically connects, but in the end it says that there is no Internet connection
3. Wi-Fi automatically connects, it works for 15 minutes 30 and off. Further attempts to turn it on lead to point number 1 or 2.
The third scenario works if, before turning on the Wi-Fi, the Internet worked from a cable (by the way, the Internet works well from a cable, but has been intermittent lately).
Considering that there are no problems with the Internet in other places, I think that the problem is most likely in the router, but I don’t know what it might be.
In this regard, the question is: is it being treated or should I buy a new one? If treated, how?
I ask for your help. Thank you.

There was about the same situation, though with D-Link'om.
A little later it turned out that the PSU was "dying", as a result of which the voltage dropped and the router began to work crookedly with both Wi-Fi and Ethernet. A little while later, he became very ill. It just started to freeze during operation, and then there was not enough power for the boot at all.
Later I found out that the whole series of routers was with defective PSUs. Sooner or later they died, for someone in a month, and for someone, like me, for example, after 2 years.
Actually following from this, you need a new piece of iron. Or, if possible, check the PSU and repair / change.

@Isaac

Do not rush to throw away the piece of iron, in such cases it sometimes helps to change the wifi settings, in this case with
a tp link:
USA)
2. Security settings, in particular encryption methods TKIP and AES
3. Also set the channel width to a fixed
one. Well, look at the firmware on the site for a fresh one, if any.
