BBC 'World of Tomorrow' and the first immortal lab mouse by 2015: who knows the details?

The Future World infographic on the BBC website reports that there is some chance (six to one) that by 2015 the first immortal laboratory mouse will be created (meaning not a computer mouse, but a living animal).

It got me interested.

Does anyone know where I can read more about this mouse immortality project?

I heard that a million dollars was promised to a gerontologist who would achieve a positive result in this matter. But for someone in this field to have success so significant that they allow us to estimate the probability of 6/1 ... In my opinion, this whole scheme is more of a sci-fi character, which has nothing to do with reasonable forecasting.
