Backups on server hardware with a raid array?
The question is very simple. There is a virtualization system VMWARE ESXI. I can just set up a ride to mirror with 2 big hdds. Roll out WinServer to one of the VMs. And make snapshots of it and all things. Is it possible to just take and set up what would automatically snapshot? Or do not take a steam bath at all and just buy a NAS?

That Ride is not Backup. It's just a way to save information.
Do not confuse pussy with a finger :)
RAID is a technology for increasing reliability and fault tolerance. Hardware. That is, it protects against disk failure - the disk died, it was pulled out hot, a new one was installed, the system itself found it and launched the rebuild of the array. If the RAID controller is smart enough and there is a hot-partner, it will connect it itself and start the rebuild, you only need to replace the dead disk, it will automatically be declared a hot-partner.
All these tricks with the ears are needed in order to exclude the situation of a physical disk failure and physical loss of information.
But in addition to physical losses, there are also logical ones. For example, after a power failure, the base grunted. From the point of view of physical integrity, infa is normal, but from the point of view of the database - crap. How will RAID save you in this case? That's right, no way. Therefore, a separate shelf with Synology on board is taken, a backup software is placed there, and this software backs up the machines.
It's not entirely clear what you want to do?
Backup? - well, make a backup by any available and convenient means.
But it is not clear where does RAID.
The presence or absence of a RAID array does not affect the choice of archiving method.
