backuppc. Incremental copies contain all previous files, not just new ones. How to fix?

Good day to all!

I ask for help in explaining the mechanism of incremental backup through BackupPC.

There is a task of backup of Windows of system.
In particular: save the Windows folder, with backups, to a third-party machine.
As a solution, a free system manager, Linux Mint 17.3 and BackupPC were chosen.
The system is set up and working, but not as expected, namely, inerementary backup:

1. There is a file, conditionally, of 274 MB. I make BackupPC a full copy, everything is clear. The backup takes up about the same amount of disk space.
2. I add a second file to the target folder, for example, 2 MB. I run BackupPC on an incremental copy - a new 279 MB archive appears, in addition to the full copy. Whereas I assumed that it would just add a new 2 MB archive. and the total will not be 274 + 279, but 279.
3. Figs with him, I add the third file to the target folder, at 20 meters. Again I start BackupPC incremental - the third archive of 300 MB appears on the output. Those. there are already 274+279+300 in backups.
4. I don’t add anything to the target, I just press it stupidly - make it incremental.

Total: var/lib/backuppc/pc/srv05/ (the folder for storing backups made) weighs more than a gigabyte. Judging by the backuppc logs - yes, everything is done incrementally. In fact, when viewing the file system - each archive contains all the files that are in the target folder at the time of backup, and not just new ones, relative to the full archive.

Writes the following in the logs:

samba makes a syslog error, until it was removed.

Tell me, which gear is spinning wrong?

Probably the file is changed between archiving, or the archiving flag is reset.

Is it possible to issue a command from the command line ls -ld var/lib/backuppc/pc? Something seems to me - you are misinterpreting the information.

Today I tried to repeat the situation on Linux Mint 19.3.
Still worse.
A full backup does, but an incremental one doesn't. Those. backup folders are empty.
