Backup virtual Windows. How?

You need to back up windows running under kvm. The database is running on the VM. You need to leave it up to date/working when you roll back to the backup. How to do this without stopping the VM?
Or at the same time back up the database with regular means and the file component through shadow copying?

Offhand, only Acronis has an integrated solution that supports both KVM and applications like MS SQL (Acronis Backup Advanced for RHEV/KVM).
So there is a " certain script " that backs up the virtual machines themselves in KVM, but you cannot rely on the fact that it will correctly back up the guest MS SQL database. Or rather, not even that. You can safely rely on the fact that it will not backup the database, and if you raise a virtual machine from such a backup, then the database inside it will not start :-)
