Backup squid, how?

Hello! There is a problem - there is no solution!
There is a squid3.3 proxy server with configured real-time reporting and logging, running Ubuntu-server. This whole system runs on physical hardware (host). I would like to transfer all this to a virtualization tool (hyper-v hypervisor). I don't have much experience with Linux. Tell me if there are any solutions for backup, at least a configured squid? Or something else?
Or is the easiest option for me to copy the config files and redeploy?
Thank you in advance.

On the host:
cd /etc
tar -cvf squid.tar squid
On the virtual machine Install
squid (I don’t know how packages are installed in bubuntu, I have centos)
copy the squid.tar archive to /etc
tar -xvf squid.tar
Squid usually stores everything in a directory /etc/squid. But there is one point. If authentication is domain or something else, it is necessary that the same helpers that were used are installed, that is, it is desirable to install the same package that was installed on the host booth.
