Backup ... ?
Good day everyone! Once I was at a conference of system administrators, and there they demonstrated a wonderful product "StorageCraft ShadowProtect". What it can do:
- "on the go" makes a disk / partition image
- server and client parts (in the server scheduler and all sorts of settings there)
- miracle algorithms that allow you to make incremental copies (to save space, for example)
- a number of developments that allow you to expand the image immediately into a virtual machine (for less downtime)
- well, there was a lot of things there ...
All this works only on Windows, everything is sharpened according to the Next\Next\Next\OK\Finish type, that is, it is easy to install, administer, etc. .
I'm interested, but it costs a lot of money and doesn't work with my gentoo and freeBSD.
Who knows how rich the world of open source is, is there even something like that? All sorts of virtual machines and incremental copies are not very interesting, but a “live” image and a single point of administration are a necessary thing. And maybe there is something for windows machines?

An interesting piece of hardware for backups and virtual machines, at a very interesting price. You can think less about saving space and more about good things :-) bitblaze.ru
