Audiophiles, which is better assets or liabilities?

Comrades audiophiles, explain for the quality of music!
What is better to take: Studio monitors + external sound card, or is it better to look towards the DAC (amp) + passive speakers?
What is the fundamental difference between these assemblies? (I'm not talking about passive / active speakers right now - I read about them) I'm generally interested in what is more practical to take for listening to music.

active - with a built-in amplifier and, accordingly, an increased price in relation to passive ones.
pluses - less space, the amp is sharpened by the manufacturer for these speakers (embeds a crossover, adjusts it, etc.)
cons - in 146% of cases this is a class D amp, and it will not work to change it.
You can pick up any amplifier to good passives, depending on your wishes, the required quality and money, but this is a separate device, most often of a decent weight and other consequences.

I will say a banal thing, but you have to go and listen to yourself, if the dances are from the sound.
If there are good reasons why you can’t listen, then it’s better to take monitors + sound.
There are also parametric PSUs in active speakers, with powers up to 30W per channel, the transformer is not so heavy. And the classic power amplifier chips are also present there.
