Articles from the book. How to be?

Good evening. I don't deal with copyright. Therefore, the essence of the issue is this -
There is a book N
1. If everything is copied under a clean one, then this is a violation.
2. If I make a small "rewrite" on the articles. I will change the words, change places, etc. Am I still a delinquent?

  1. Depends on the license for the work. The license may permit reproduction with/without copyright, such as the Wikipedia license . For most paper books, reproduction (copying) is, of course, prohibited.
  2. Depends on the rewriting method. By interchanging words and using synonyms, you create a derivative work. Under open source licenses, derivative works must retain the license of the original and be published with the text of the license as well. Proprietary licenses prohibit not only publication but also the creation of derivative works. But if you write an essay on the topic of the original (such as a school "statement"), then this is not a derivative, but an original work, you are its author and have the right to dispose of your copyright at your discretion.
