Are there normal translations of Thinking in Java?
I'm specifically interested in the 4th edition. I saw the 4th edition from the publishing house "Peter" - it's terrible. Maybe there is some kind of reissue? And if you read previous editions, how is the translation and are they very outdated?

somewhere there was information that in the Russian edition even some chapters were cut out, I don’t know if it’s true or not. I personally read the original and have no problems with understanding, even despite not 100% vocabulary.
I myself asked this question some time ago, there are no normal translations. In those that are, there are a lot of jambs and the material is cut. The following chapters are missing compared to the original: Strings, Containers, Enum types, Annotations, Concurency, GUI, and seemingly no examples. So the original is better, you will kill two zats at once - tighten up your language skills and java.
Nevertheless, you are right, you will have to read the original, and at the same time replenish your vocabulary.
Hardly... The third edition also has a terrible translation. Perhaps you should learn English? (if you master colloquial speech, then it will take a lot of time, but in order to read English books you need to know the basics of grammar and stupidly fill your vocabulary ..)
