Are there games like Dwarf Fortress, NetHack, MUD clients?

Are any of the geeks familiar with games like Dwarf Fortress, NetHack, MUD clients.
Optionally console, ASCII. And in terms of complexity, gameplay. Games for which it is
interesting to write visualizers, managers (the same Dwarf Fortress has
DFHack or Dwarf Therapist).
Perhaps someone can share links to the forums.

Rogue, Moria, Angband, Brogue, Dungeon Crawl...
But very difficult: Cataclysm DDA.
Everything is in ASCII format.
