Are sessions and https related?

I added a domain to CloudFlare, the certificate is active, but it has not yet risen completely - the connection is not secure yet.
Unloaded the site, sessions do not work?
https and php are somehow connected by sessions, I don’t understand?

There may be a problem with the http-only parameter in cookies\sessions.

Are linked if the secure parameter is used when setting a cookie that contains a session ID. This is the setcookie method . And yes, sessions work through cookies.
