Are links via location.href bad for SEO?

Hello!
They asked me to look at a site developed by a web studio and tell me whether to accept it.
I came across the fact that for some reason all the links in the product minicards are made by divs with onclick="location.href".
Do I understand correctly that this is not worth doing, or am I behind the times?
