Are links of the wrong topic bad?

Greetings! After developing sites, I leave a link to my site in the footer. How do these links affect SERPs? Do I need to hide them from indexing? After all, sites of completely different topics

If the anchor link, with the corresponding text, then positively. If it's just a link from the developer, then there is no negative.

It's okay if you DO NOT use anchor links, like "website development Moscow".
If you use anchor links of this kind, there is every chance to get under the "penguin".
If you use a brand name or a domain name as a link, then there is nothing to worry about. As an option, to improve the quality of links, work out the "near-anchor" text so that the links are like:
Website development in Moscow "BestDesignGroup". There are options on some sites to put these links in Nofollow, so that there is no skew between nofollow and dofollow links.
