Are IDEF/DFD current?

How widespread are these design and structural analysis methodologies now?
Previously, I was familiar with UML, in which, in fact, everything suits me.
I had to consider these methodologies, and at first glance it is difficult to feel the advantages and disadvantages, but so far there is only one thought: why are they needed when there is UML? Or are they partly used only by those who started doing this a long time ago, and at universities they teach "if only it was"?
