Are glowing wires on the motherboard power cable normal?

I noticed that the two wires of the motherboard power cable are blinking red as if they are red-hot.

What could it be? Power supply defective?

Are you sure they are hot? if so, their insulation would melt. Most likely it is some kind of LED illuminates them.
