Are F# versions backwards compatible?

Nowhere is there a word about F# backwards compatibility. Hence the question: does this language retain (at the syntax level) backward compatibility as it evolves from version 2.0 -> 3.0 -> 3.1 -> 4.0?
PS: and why is there no F# or F SHARP tag here?

Any normal supported language retains syntax-level compatibility unless otherwise noted. Personally, I have not seen anywhere that backwards compatibility was broken in F #, so I will assume that everything is in order. Moreover, there were not so many changes there, there were no cardinal ones at all.
Obviously, F# questions are not popular. Here and C # is not asked as often as you might think.
