Are college students accepted for internships?

Almost all large companies indicate that only university students are invited for internships. Is there an internship opportunity for college students? This is an internship in the field of programming. If so, at least what kind?

As a person who is now in the states at Microsoft Research, I can say that they take any students and our education system is a dark forest for them, if you can prove that you know how to do something. Visa will be j1 exchange student.
another question is how much they can give salaries. if you study at a university one thing, if a graduate student another. If you graduated from high school but not a graduate student third. The main thing is to prove that you can do something.
If there is at least some kind of diploma, then the list of subjects will have to be translated and they can equate something to something. They equated my specialist with a master's degree, although I did not yet have a specialist diploma in my hands

Because the question is too general, then the answer is general - yes, there are such opportunities.
The company where I work is an example. In the spring of this year, we invited 6 students of VKI NSU for an internship under the guise of a diploma (having warned everyone about this in advance). 4 were immediately weeded out according to the results of the social security, one was weeded out after a couple of months, the rest was taken on a trial period.
In general, many employers, even when hiring, do not care about your education - it all depends on the person. So if I were you, I would not look at this requirement and apply anyway - if you are considered promising, then they may well turn a blind eye to where you study. In the end, even if you apply to a company for which this is a mandatory requirement, the worst thing that can happen to you is a refusal :)

I confirm. For companies that are result-oriented, not process-oriented, education is not important.

My friend went to an Intel internship in Nizhny Novgorod when she just graduated from the university, after half a year she was invited to work, and for 7 years she has been working there perfectly.
If you are interested in the details, write, I can try to catch it and find out :)
