Are cloud storages insurance against infection by encoders (ransomware)?
Suppose there is a folder whose files are synchronized with the cloud (dropbox, skydrive, googledrive, etc.). The machine is infected with ransomware and the files in this folder are encrypted and turned into %filename%.vault. What will be in the cloud after synchronization: only the encrypted file or the original and encrypted. After all, if you delete a local file, then it is deleted from the cloud.

If the cloud keeps file revisions, then it is. It will be possible to roll back the infected file to the previous revision.
