Are AMD Opteron 6300 Series server processors up to date?

I am a developer, and a long time ago, in 2012-2013, when I saw the 16-core AMD Opteron 6380 processor for the first time, I decided for myself that if I have a server, I will definitely put myself such a monster.
Time passed and I began to think about my physical server, which I will give to collocation.
I looked at the market and had a double feeling - that the Opteron is obsolete. Cheap Haswell Xeons and so on poured into the market. At the same time, old processors and motherboards sometimes cost a lot of money.
Interested in a dual-processor configuration. The server will run the API for the service and Redis.
Does anyone use Opteron at work? Are there any complaints?
