Arduino Mega + TFT or LCD. What to choose for output?

Good people.
After today's swindle from the side of weather forecasters, I decided to "quickly cheat" my autonomous thermometer + barometer. Bonuses in the form of sensors, Nano, Xbee and other happiness lie on the table and receive data. There was a question in a choice and the order of the output device.

I looked on ebay, there are both regular LCD and TFT screens. TFT looks decent, you can even bungle a case for it and make a full-fledged device. The only question is whether I can output this data beautifully directly from the Arduino. They go there with Card Reader and TouchPanel. Drawing preparation.

And the task is trivial, to display temperature, humidity, pressure + forecast. In fact: upload the background and display the numbers in places.
Is it worth the bother? Or take a regular LCD and display everything in Chelyabinsk?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I did something similar to myself on a regular LCD 16x2. Of the shortcomings - the backlight of the screen at night illuminates the room quite strongly, the wife said to cut it down :). And without illumination, almost nothing is visible at a distance of 1-2 meters in the corner of the room with average illumination.
I think it would be more or less optimal to use a vacuum luminescent indicator, in which the characters themselves are highlighted and not the entire screen.

I took a regular LCD 16x2 "blue", customized (enlarged) the fonts, the backlight is off 99% of the time, it turns on when a certain button on the TV remote is pressed, i.e. I have added an ir sensor. It can be seen well from anywhere in the room and the backlight does not bother the wife.

I took a small LCD screen with a resolution of 320x240 from eBay. Touch and SD card are built in. For example: link
