Applied Informatics or ASOIiU?

At the moment, I am faced with a choice of which specialty to enter, either Applied Informatics (in Economics), code 230700, or Automated Information Processing and Control Systems, code 230102. The first specialty was crap, arguing that there is not fish, not meat, t .e. neither programming is taught, nor economics is normal. I would like to note that at the moment I have a secondary technical education (technician-programmer), I work in the development of a billing system for housing and communal services (Oracle). Regarding the second specialty (ASOIiU) - physics is needed there, which I almost do not understand. So now I’m thinking where to go, although I like both directions. And yes, I want to do it. Maybe there are applied workers and representatives of the second specialty here, I would like to hear your advice. Thank you for your attention.

Studied at "applied informatics in economics". remotely. I do software development. I owe some small share of professional knowledge and interests to the university (there were several interesting manuals and teachers). Mostly self-education. However, in principle, I do not regret choosing a specialty. Some subjects broadened my horizons towards economics and law - which I cannot stand and would not read on my own initiative.
Well, in "applied informatics in economics" there is a lot of all sorts of garbage related to relational databases - an information system, by definition, must be based on a database. If you already know this topic in practice, you will ride there like cheese in oil and walk with your nose up in the air among fellow students.
The disadvantage is poor training in computer science. There are few algorithms, data structures, binary logic - you have to read it yourself. No low-level languages, no electronics or hardware at all. Of course, it all depends on the specific university. Look at the curricula of these specialties and compare.

the main thing is to systematize your thoughts, learn how to study, learn how to search for information, and you can study in different specializations ... what your soul lies in and what you like, go there.
the main thing is interest and not be afraid of difficulties.
