Any experience with including DDR3 sodimm memory in a DDR3L sodimm slot?

I want to buy a DDR3L sodimm 1.35V 8GB for a laptop, but it's not on sale, it's only available for 4.
Is it possible to plug DDR3 1.5V into a 1.35V slot for DDR3L?

Tried, didn't work.
Please note that this also depends on the chipset. For example, in my other laptop both types of memory are supported, both 1.35 and 1.5 will work
