Android website client. Where to start studying?

Good day to all. I recently started learning Android.
The topic has attracted me for a long time, and in general, by nature, I am a rather creative person, but I don’t always put my creativity into practice. But creating something out of nothing, in my opinion, is the height of perfection. Maybe that's why I love computer games and books. But that's not the point.
I know for myself that I need a certain incentive to move on. That is, when I take on complex projects right away and there is no help, I lose all interest in it due to a stupor in some place. There is a great desire to make a client application for one site.
That is, something like applications for VKontakte, classmates, etc. Of course, it's much easier. Yes, I understand that I'm jumping high, but that soldier who does not dream of becoming a general is bad ... I don't know if the site has an API or if I have to completely torture JSON, but the bottom line is that I don't know where to start.
I teach as much as possible JAVA, and lessons on ANDROID on different sites. Everything is very slow, and I want small results now. Maybe someone can show examples, etc.?
That is, look at how I have done it and try to implement it yourself, etc. I don't want to jump on everything ready. But examples and, perhaps, program codes would be very helpful. And also communication with literate people on certain issues.
To tell where to start teaching, and in general to help somehow. Send in the right direction ... I would be very, very grateful. Thank you very much if you read this and can somehow constructively help.

You should write books. That kind of talent is wasted.

I am also studying mobile app development. Significant progress for me happened when I started reading paper books on the subject, plus them in that a complete course of material is given, it is easier for the brain to build on structured information. There is no porridge from stackoverflow questions, habrostats and forums (I do not argue, these materials have a different training niche).
While the books are coming by regular mail from Amazon, download a digital copy to your tablet. You can treat pirates differently, but in my case, PDF scans were much more readable than the Kindle version of the same book.
As a result, my IMHO, books rule. If you want to code right away, you can... code right away! All the mistakes that come out as far as possible write here or find an intelligent friend (or several) and pull them. In general, IT specialists are mostly positive people and will be happy to help.
