Android smartphone for development?

Good afternoon!
I am developing my first app for android smartphone. During this short period, I realized that the speed of the emulator, to put it mildly, leaves much to be desired, and began to look for a phone to test the application on it.
I think to take some budget option for 7-8 thousand rubles with OS version 2.1. Tell me, are there any features when choosing such devices for development? I plan to target the application to the maximum number of devices. Will the choice of such an old version be a problem? Are there any difficulties with deploying applications on them?
PS I heard about androin x86, but in any case, developing for android and not having a phone is somehow sad ... :-)

Take Optimus One or Optimus Link, on 2.1 handsets almost all are transferred to 2.2 at least, and between 2.1 and 2.2 the difference is not as great as between 2.2 and 2.3

As already advised above - you can take the LG GT540 - it now costs about 5 thousand, and the used one is about 2-3 thousand.
Or a slightly more expensive option - LG P500 \ HTC Wildfire, cost 6-8 thousand, but there is 2.3, but which, including the LG GT540, many sew. Plus, the screen is already capacitive ...

As an option, you can take the Chinese version of android phones. The characteristics are the same, only the prots they shove there are bad, but the prices are low and it will do for testing applications (but not games)

Optimus Link is a bug fix for Optimus One, read before you buy. I took Link myself a week ago.
