Android development - where to start?

I bought myself an HTC Desire and there was a desire to try to develop software for this platform. On the desktop I use Linux Mint (slightly modified ubuntu 10.10) - so there should be no problems installing the SDK.
Interested exactly where you can read about development (from the initial level of knowledge) with examples - it will be easier to delve into it.
