Android development in C#?

Hello.
I don’t understand this issue well, because of this I can misinterpret some concepts, I apologize.
Does it have a weighty argument to develop applications (including games on the same unity) in C #, and not in Java.
Are there any significant advantages and disadvantages over Java.

if you know C# very well + you know Xamarin very well = this is a very weighty argument
but if you plan to start ... - in java you will collect the rake java and android ... and in xamarin ++ the rake xamarin
ps
Unity itself, and itself in You can decide for yourself C#
... there are people who write in many languages .. you can master both languages, you can also one. but anyway, development for android is cross development. it won't be easy. and as always, to start - you need to start

If you specifically want to develop applications and not games, then I still recommend choosing java or kotlin for the following reasons:
1) java is the native language for android
2) examples, lessons are all in java
3) in general, the community uses java
4) the studio is tailored for java
If you want to develop games on the unit, then you have no choice between java and c#, since the unit does not support java
