An e-book for technical literature?

I would like to update the question asked in 2011 . Are there e-books, not tablets, because the eyes fall out of the monitor at work, for comfortable reading of technical literature (with diagrams, code examples, etc.). Target formats PDF, DJVU. Of course fb2, epub should also be supported.
My wife has a wonderful onyx magellan, I tried to open pdf on it, it looks nasty. Moreover, android and a wide selection of reading programs do not correct the situation. I tried to convert to fb2 from pdf with underground converters, the result is even worse. The most common problems are uneven color texts, out-of-order formatting, brainless display of footnote formulas, code, in short, the most interesting! What is there at the end of 2015 in the e-book industry for these purposes? Who is in the subject, please open your eyes to me, soon the new year, you need to make yourself a gift.
UPD:Unfortunately, it seems that there are no A4 pdf e-book readers, there are 10-inch models, but the price is just like an airplane! From the software side, there are also problems - a scanned (underground) pdf will be displayed poorly. Alas, the tablet is the only alternative to a PC monitor that I see today.

I took Pocketbook 624. PDF in album mode is normally readable, only a page of 3 screens is obtained. Very happy with the book
