An analogue of "cloud storage" for a local network?

Good day to all!
I like to work with cloud storages, but unfortunately at work they cannot be used for some reason. But files are shared with colleagues somehow, sharing a folder is not an option, and the method of transfer via ftp currently used does not suit everyone.
Are there programs that work similarly to existing cloud storages (SkyDrive, DropBox, GoggleDrive), but for a local network? The utility which would be put to clients and synchronized contents.

I have not seen anything better than SharePoint Workspace 2010 (formerly Groove) - this is if you need to store a copy of files offline on users' machines.
And so I use SharePoint Foundation 2010 and am happy as an elephant)
