Am I breaking the law if I upload fonts with source codes?

Working on business cards for a client. He asks for sources. The font used is paid. As far as I know, you cannot transfer licensed fonts. Is it so? Now I don't know what to do.

Violate not the law, but the terms of the license agreement. Different companies may have different license terms (for both paid and free fonts), so read the license agreement of a particular company and font about what is prohibited and what it threatens.
What is the problem? Hand over to the customer the source codes with fonts converted to curves, if the license for the font requires it. Or transfer the sources without converting fonts to curves (with the ability to edit text if there are font files), and inform that the license prohibits the transfer of font files, and the font itself must be purchased (if changes are required by the customer on their own). Let him choose whether to buy the font or contact you again.
In general, you should specify in advance the use of fonts with certain licenses, as well as the file transfer format. Sometimes it's easier to include the cost of the font in your budget.
Of course, if you bought this font yourself;)
