Alternative to Wordpress for a directory site?

Hello!

I have been working with VP for more than 6 years, I solved a lot of various problems with it. Now I want to try something new. I do projects for myself from time to time, I thought it would be nice to make a new project (site-catalog of organizations, user authorization / registration, division by roles / account types (client / company), filtering, and much more) on Drupal or Joomla.

Friends, who can tell if Drupal or Joomla have specific clear advantages over WP for creating this type of site? On WP, such sites are made with a bang, but still I want to try something new (WP is boring). I’m looking towards Drupal, but I don’t fully understand its principle of operation ... where is the admin panel, why is the admin panel (if it is an admin panel) on the same template as the frontend, how fast is it, how flexible is it for such projects?

I will be glad to listen to knowledgeable developers who do not just praise their swamp (their favorite CMS), but can reasonably suggest whether it is worth leaving the WP for Drupal / Joomla and why. Thank you.

I used to work with VP
from the pros:
quickly and conveniently create templates and plugins
easy admin panel, ONLY if it is not loaded with functionality
from the minuses:
Only suitable for simple solutions
if the project is more or less serious, the admin panel is loaded with a bunch of plugins, which leads to misunderstanding on the part of the client
There are many holes that you are tormented to patch.
Not all projects can be done, because. some for the development of individual functionality do not pay off and become meaningless
very cheaply valued in terms of orders, you can’t earn a living on VP, only for existence)
Drupal and Joomla: once there were not bad cms, when there were no normal ready-made solutions yet. Today, by their structure, these are confusing and very inconvenient platforms on which it is not easy to develop serious projects. Over the hill, they are very much appreciated and used by many foreign government agencies, but if you look at the sites themselves, you can see with the naked eye - "the last century of development."
If you develop as a developer, I recommend looking towards modern frameworks (for example, laravel, Yii2) or Bitrix (I personally went into this direction, which I don’t regret a bit)
The main plus in frameworks, you can create anything on them, with this is faster than embedding in any cms that does not have a framework in its base.
Specialized developers are highly valued,
The disadvantage of the transition is that it takes time to study and gain practical experience (stuffing bumps), it is very difficult to get even simple orders for the first period until there is at least a portfolio.

If you want to really grow - take some kind of Laravel open source CMS and finish it to fit your needs, for example https://twill.io
Otherwise, this is just making life more difficult for yourself and people, and at the same time there will be a feeling that you are marking time in one place.

I recommend writing on a php-framework, and not taking a CMS.
Well, if Joomla, then here is a component for you that will allow you to sculpt ANY kind of content on this CMS, just a mega-powerful tool: https://www.seblod.com/

It makes no sense to move from the WP to other CMS. Switch to CMF - Yii2 for example, or Laravel, Symfony. Well, or to frameworks in other languages Django, Spring, RoR, etc.
For example, I switched from WP to Spring (java).
