Algorithm for cutting 360 panorama on CubeMap?

Good evening, help me understand how to cut a large 360 panorama, I'm trying to master this pannellum.org. There is a python generator in the sources ( https://github.com/mpetroff/pannellum/blob/master/... but it does not have an algorithm for cutting a picture (as I understand it uses a third-party program), please tell me.
