Additional USB port for laptop. How to do?
Hi all. Not much of a technical question.
I want to hide the USB modem board right inside the laptop. There is a soldered USB port from an old dead computer and wires.
Question: will it work if you throw wires from one of the ports to a new port? Both ports (new, old) will be used!
If not, how can I achieve the desired result?

It is impossible to hang two devices on one USB port without a hub.
You can insert a modem board inside the laptop case if you find a place and a way to fix it there. You can also solder its USB cable to one of the USB plugs available in the laptop. But it will become impossible to use this plug to connect other USB devices to it, even if from the outside it seems unoccupied.
If this option suits you - do it, everything should work.
