Acer Iconia Tab A501. System update via 3G?

Actually the essence of the problem is that the device stubbornly offers to download the update when connected to WiFi, and the fact that there is an unlimited 3G connected to it is completely violet.
Everything else works fine through 3G, as does the actual check for updates.
Has anyone struggled with such bad behavior?

In the update settings, there is usually a checkbox to update only via WiFi. Try looking for her.

I can't speak for Android, but iOS and WP7 have a limit on the amount of apps/updates that can be downloaded over 3G. The device simply will not allow you to download especially large amounts of data. Maybe you have a similar situation?
